Wilson Consulting Group, LLC (WCG) has developed a PAID holistic and intensive cybersecurity internship program for undergraduate and graduate college students from local HBCUs and other well-known h igher education institutions. Students will have the opportunities to work in our sales, marketing and consulting services departments and gain business and technical skills in information technology, information security and cybersecurity, sales and marketing. Students will gain practical skills, experience, industry training and certifications, making them more prepared for and attractive to the workforce.

Who We Are Looking For
WCG is hiring intelligent, hardworking, and passionate students who are studying Business, Sales and Marketing, Communications, or other related fields.

Objectives
Students will work with experienced staff in teams to pool together and enhance their experiences and data analytics, technical communication, problem solving, project management, leadership, and interpersonal skills to help solve current IT challenges and cybersecurity threats.

Marketing Interns will work toward the following objectives but are not limited to:

  • Market and generate sales successfully to one or more key business verticals, such as Fortune 1000, Fortune 2000 private companies, Universities and School Districts, Government and Public Sector and other areas
  • Plan and execute solid marketing and sales strategies to build, promote and sell WCG’s services and products
  • Assist in the development and distribution of marketing materials, corporate documents, proposals, electronic presentations, corporate videos, company website content and social media presence
  • Update lead information into organization’s CRM
  • Receive specific Marketing training

General Skillsets and Requirements

  • Understanding of best-practice security methodologies
  • Strong writing skills
  • Excellent oral communication
  • Ability to manage projects solo and project team members
  • Ability to research effectively to identify and reach new customers
  • Ability to multi-task effectively
  • Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships
  • Basic understanding of Google Campaigns and Adobe Creative Cloud

Overall Outcome

WCG is hiring intelligent, hardworking, and passionate students who are studying Data Analytics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Management Information Systems, Business Administration, or the equivalent in experience.

Objectives
Students will work with experienced staff in teams to pool together and enhance their experiences and data analytics, technical communication, problem solving, project management, leadership, and interpersonal skills to help solve current IT challenges and cybersecurity threats.

Data Analyst & Scientist Interns will work toward the following objectives but are not limited to:

  • Analyze multiple data sources to collect consolidate, validate, and manage Enterprise IT data using tools such as Microsoft Excel, Microsoft SharePoint, Microsoft Visio, and Power BI. Data sources include OMB MAX Portal, the eCPIC tool, CSAM, ITSM (ServiceNow/Remedy) and network monitoring tools.
  • Perform detailed analysis to normalize information, extrapolate observations, define trends and opportunities for improvement
  • Collect and integrate IT-related data, engagement with stakeholders to elicit and track project progress
  • Review and maintain data models and data quality in association with other Data analysts
  • Create presentation materials for Program Team leadership utilization and present as required
  • Organize/Facilitate/Document program meetings with stakeholders, and
  • Develop regular status reports for use by the Program Team in dealing with Senior Leaders and external agencies

General Skillsets and Requirements

  • Demonstrated analytical skills with ability to define, collect, and analyze data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and make fact-based recommendations.
  • Ability to work both independently and with a team within a collaborative client environment
  • Functional understanding of data center operations and cloud computing platforms
  • Experience with IT metrics and KPI definition and reporting
  • Data management experience in an IT environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel (including Pivot tables)

Overall Outcome

Consulting Services (Risk and Compliance Services) Interns will work toward the following objectives but are not limited to:

  • Gain hands-on technical experience by assisting with conducting Technical Security Assessments such as Security Authorization and Assessments, Cyber Security Assessments, Penetration Testing, Application Assessments and Wireless Assessments
  • Apply knowledge of information technology and security and gain hands-on experience with open source tools such as but not limited to Nessus, Snort, Metasploit, Java, Python and OpenSSH
  • Assist with auditing and the installation and configuration of network and operating systems with a specific environment
  • Implement information security and regulatory standards best practices and assessment methodologies
  • Receive cyber security certification training which will enable them to take the exam and get certified

General Skillsets and Requirements

  • Understanding of best-practice security methodologies
  • Strong writing skills
  • Excellent oral communication
  • Ability to manage projects solo and project team members
  • Ability to multi-task effectively

  • Limited experience with at least one of the following:
